# IB20Asset.effectiveAt

> Returns the timestamp at which the pending UI multiplier becomes effective.

## Description

Returns the `block.timestamp` at which the pending UI multiplier becomes active.

A live pending update exists while `effectiveAt() > block.timestamp`. Once `block.timestamp >= effectiveAt()`, `uiMultiplier()` returns the new multiplier automatically, no transaction is required and no event is emitted at maturation.

After the flip, check for a new live pending update with `effectiveAt() > block.timestamp`. Do not check `effectiveAt() == 0`.

  Maturation is time-based. Indexers must not wait for an onchain event at `effectiveAt`. The `UIMultiplierUpdated` event fires when the update is **recorded**, not when it matures.
